Ever constantly,
heartbeats pound, sap and air flow
while there is life still.
Healthy Happy Hearts
Grace, grit found good friends
in her voice and their guitars.
Hearts in harmony.
Now they greet each day
with a poem and a song,
with a cheerful heart.
Could cheer in our homes propitiate cheer in our towns, and care in our hearts promote care among nations?
Hurting Holey Hearts
How come sometimes, when someone’s heart gives out, someone else’s heart gives up?
The beloved, gone.
Utterly heartbreaking grief.
Deep hole in their beings.
How does the life force beat despite and through broken hearts?
The grieving sad ones
still breathe, eat, drink, sleep, walk, work.
With their hearts impaled.
Humming Homing Hearts
May we not get numbed, dulled, blunted to our siblings’ suffering.
And, if we do … May we find the way back home to our humane human heart.
Holy Hearts
The moving mystics,
the wondering wanderers,
spend nights in the heart.
...
In spite of it all,
they show up, stand up, speak up,
wear their hearts out loud.
Hoping Hearts
May the voice and vision of our heart
remain clear enough, follow the light.
May the surrounding smog and smoke
not drown its sound or cloud its sight.
Humble Hearts
We all break plates, hearts.
Living leaves a littered trail.
Even sages, saints.
...
In silence, in hearts,
wisdom is not hidden well.
Pearl in its oyster.
Honing Hearts
May our hearts not be shut or hardened.
May grace, goodness fuel our homes, hearths, hearts.
May our words, wishes, attitudes, actions help, heal,
help heal the harm, the hate, the hurt, the hearts.
Harnessing Hearts
Said Humanity:
We were lured to shut our hearts.
And now we’re crying.
Said some wise sages:
We can heal, it’s not too late.
We’ll keep on trying.
Healing Hearts
Love makes the heart hurt,
opens it so it can break.
Love helps the heart heal.
Loving and laughing.
He He He, Ha Ha Ha Ha!
Humor helps hearts heal.
Heartstrings
Here we are, and here we go.
With heavy hearts for all who are suffering.
With open hearts for all whose hearts have closed.
With broken hearts for all who have lost their way.
With loving hearts for all, for all, for all.
Homespun Hearts
The letters in the word ‘Heart’ and the word ‘Earth’ are the same, except that the ‘h’ playfully switches places.
Heartening, a heartfelt message to non-human kin
How are you, Heart?
Hidden, well-guarded, fenced with barbed wire, surrounded by a deep moat?
Out in the open, undefended, unsheltered, exposed?
Willing to come out of the chest, to move beyond the sleeve, to visit, to venture?
Do you still shiver, tremble, moved by the powerful passion of compassion?
Do you risk sharing yourself with those known, with those unknown, with those distant, with those close, with those who steal hearts, with the heartbreakers, with the heartbroken?
Do you dare to lend yourself, to give yourself away, to put yourself on the line, to get in ‘good trouble’?
Is there anything more truly beautiful and valuable than an open, kind, courageous heart?
After all, and despite the rest, life keeps surging, and the hearts of many who are open, willing and engaged keep on beating, so we can keep on caring and sharing.

Heartfelt thanks for reading Pausing for Ponderings and participating with your perspectives.
Seeing what is there, obvious when shown, we can do for each other. Mi amor.
Marisol, your haiku and verse beautifully capture the full spectrum of emotions and experiences, inspiring reflection and resonating deeply with the heart's journey through joy, sorrow and healing. Thank you.
