Could care look like this,
meeting what/who is here now,
granting them value?
Could brave look like this,
facing arrows, mirrors, truth,
trusting our valor?
Goodwill
The power of goodness and grace fuels fervor, vitalizes valor.
We may not know much.
We dare to care, that should count.
Dare our hearts be touched.
For this we can do.
Dare to care, love life, reach out.
Stay open, willing.
We care, so we dare.
Despite discouragement, doubt.
Determined. Here, there.
Groupies
Courage is not fearlessness, but determination.
We’re called to be brave,
‘we can do hard things,’ Doyle says.
Will we dare heed call?
Young, old pacifists,
dreamers, bold idealists.
Dare to imagine.
Stunned by greed’s cruelty,
saddened by fear’s silent freeze.
Dare to cry out loud.
Grace
Even with ache, angst,
grace shows up, stands up, speaks up.
With integrity.
We can cross creeks, aisles,
with walking sticks, steadfast, brave.
With goodwill, yes, grace.
Tenderizing grace,
softening our grip, our gaze.
Strengthened by our faith.
Guided
Take on all comers,
in our hearts as in commerce.
Faith, trust and courage.
To the discouraged,
we’re in this together here.
Have a little faith.
Although fear at times
may make us quake, shake, shudder,
truth trust wins over.
Gaia
Adversity dares us to rise and respond, like sun and moon respond by rising daily, regardless.
Brave tender tendrils
true to form, reach out, faith-full.
Trusting life’s deep truths.
Wild climbing ivy,
among and beyond woes, weeds,
shows off her brave feats.
With bold hope seeds sprout,
with tenacious tenderness,
with fierce friendliness.
Gentler
Caring, courageous,
raise/join hands, all-hands-on-deck.
Varied ways to serve.
Holding doors open.
Choosing we, us, connection.
Betting on wonder.
Poems resist doom,
will risk strophe, verse, word for world.
Or will die trying.
Grittier
Skillful, soulful speech,
worthy intentions through wise speak.
Words count for something.
Engaged, fruitful feats,
bearing witness through brave deeds.
Work weighs even more.
Putting right effort,
grinding gritty gem labor.
Good work, good trouble.
Gutsier
In grand depths and heights
there are risks and the unknown.
And inklings of truth?
The risks are real, here,
history in the making.
This, still in our hands.
Yes, say it, do it!,
live the questions. Care, risk, trust.
Keep changing. Stay true.
Gumption
Safe and sound here now?
At risk of something, always.
Vulnerable, yes.
We take chances, risks,
for worthy cause, principles.
Naïve, or brave? Both?
Risky, radical,
together for fair we-world.
Daring awesome feats.
Game On
We’re taking a stand,
it's a virtuous, valiant stance.
For this, against that.
With courage, effort,
we tackle the tough tasks, now.
For the common good.
‘United we can,’
reads the rally sign they made.
May caring prevail.
Guardians
Circles of courage
fueling each other’s faith fires.
There’s strength in numbers.
Brave is beautiful,
has moral integrity.
Truth is courageous.
Cowardly Lion?
‘Courage’ comes from ‘Heart’ in French.
Take heart, caring friends.
Growth
It takes courage to summon our power, manifest our potential, put our principles into practice.
Do we dare to say no, enough, speak up, stand with those harmed, hurt, broken?
Do we dare to put ourselves on the line, to get in ‘good trouble’?
How to turn our righteous outrage into rightful courage?
How to harness the superpower of clear-sighted calm-hearted caring?
Goodness
May we convey courage to try, to trust, to weep, to work, to learn, to love.
May we transform outrage into courage.
May we charge each other’s batteries.
May we encourage those we encounter.
May we encourage courage.
Courage is a virtue, to dare to face adversity.
May we summon courage when facing trials.
May we find encouragement when facing fear.
May we face falsehoods,
fierceness, frailties, faithlessness.
Even when frightened.
Godliness
May we dare to care,
to tend to those who need it.
No one left behind.
May we dare to share,
to ensure all get a chance.
No one left without.
Generosity
May we bring goodness,
gratitude, grace, grit, gifts, guts.
May we bring gumption.
May we bring courage
to face the threatening storms,
to meet the moment.
